The Oyam Institute of Sciences and Technology (OIST) was established in October 2018 with a clear mission: to link scientific knowledge with practical skills that improve lives. The Institute is a private, not-for-profit TVET provider that pursues this purpose through competence-based education in medical and applied technology.
This commitment is underpinned by ISO 9001:2015 certification and informed by Uganda’s TVET Act, 2025. OIST trains learners to apply knowledge to practical solutions through hands-on training, real-life projects, and its partnership with the United Young Innovators Foundation (UYIF), producing skilled, ethical and innovative technicians for healthcare, industry and community service.
